TRAUMA
Restoration, Healing, and Strength: Navigating the Layers of Trauma for a Renewed and Connected Life.
Trauma is not merely an event that happened to you; it is an experience that leaves a profound impact on the core of who you are. In moments of trauma, a part of us collapses and becomes trapped within, holding onto the feelings, meanings, and memories of those critical moments. These remnants persist, and the need for protection and care during traumatic times continues to echo into the present.
When trauma experiences are not processed effectively, they linger in short-term memory, actively shaping our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Even if we are not consciously aware of explicit memories, the implicit impact of trauma remains active within us, influencing our lives without our active awareness.
The effects of trauma can manifest in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, often operating beneath our conscious awareness. Our amygdala, the threat assessor in our brain, perpetually scans for cues signaling a repeat of our trauma, triggering embodied memories and leading to hypervigilance, irritability, anxiety, anger, and emotional exhaustion.
Relationships, especially with those we expected love and trust, can be profoundly impacted by trauma. The uncertainty about the trustworthiness of loved ones, unexpected mood shifts, irrational fears, and confusing reasoning can create challenges in our connections with others.
I recognize that healing from trauma can be a daunting and risky journey. My mission is to support you in increasing your strength, repairing traumatized memories and emotions, and re-wiring your threat assessor for greater freedom and agency in your life. I strive to guide you through the process of healing, helping you reclaim control and cultivate resilience as we navigate the path to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
